Tebian
"Luck favors the unseen."

"Luck favors the unseen."
Tebian is the faction of urchins, thieves, bandits, runners, scouts, gamblers, smugglers, and castoffs who survive where official power does not reach or does not care. It is not a kingdom and not a single guild. It is a street culture, a shared language of quiet movement, hidden favors, practical luck, and found family.
Tebian territory is found in alley markets, roof paths, roadside camps, abandoned towers, ferry shadows, border inns, and the nameless rooms beneath respectable cities. The black cat serves as their mascot, carrying caution, night-sight, soft steps, bad reputations, and the stubborn talent to land on one's feet.
A locked gate is only one version of a path. Tebians prize quiet feet, quick routes, rooftops, tunnels, and the instinct to leave before power notices.
Tebian luck is not blind chance. It is a spare knife, a false name, a friend at the back door, and knowing which floorboard complains.
Tebian loyalty is local, personal, and earned. They shelter abandoned children, hunted debtors, failed soldiers, runaway apprentices, and anyone willing to keep the code.
The black cat emblem carries quiet movement, survival, suspicion, luck, and the courage to live outside approval. The light blue eyes mark the Tebian gift for seeing exits, tells, traps, and chances other people miss.
"Tebian represents the people history tries to step over: the quick-handed, the roof-walking, the hungry, the hidden, and the lucky few who turn survival into culture."
Nythera writes the laws and builds the locks. Tebian learns the gaps, the side doors, and the people those laws leave outside.
Varkesh sees thieves and deserters. Tebian sees press gangs, burned homes, and people running from banners they never chose.
Useful but dangerous. Elonia can make a room listen; Tebian knows when a room has already decided to lie.
Caerwyn offers shelter beyond the roads. Tebian respects that mercy, but never forgets that hunger follows people into the woods.
The hidden protectors of whole districts, safe routes, and orphan houses. An Alley Saint decides who gets shelter, who gets warned, and who gets left to the law.
Veterans who know doors, codes, prices, secrets, and escape routes. They train crews, judge risky work, and decide which jobs violate the code.
Scouts, messengers, smugglers, and guides who move people or goods through forbidden routes. A good Roofrunner is gone before the shout reaches the street.
Newcomers, street children, debt runners, and refugees learning the routes, rules, signs, and debts that keep Tebian alive.
A Human Shifter guardian of hidden shelters, bad roofs, and children no census ever counted...
A Human fixer who can open three doors with one favor and close a city with one rumor...
A Pipkin courier whose route maps are useless to anyone who cannot read laundry lines and chimney smoke...
