How To Determine Your Proficiencies and Spell List
Your spell list is determined by your subclass and class. For example, a class might grant you access to the Passion spell list, and your subclass might grant you access to the Growth spell list. In this case you get access to both spell lists, similar to how a subclass might grant additional access to weapons, or armor.

What Is A Recovery Die?
A recovery die helps you determine your character's hit points and can be used to restore hit points or spell points during a short, or long rest. Recovery Die can only be used on yourself.
A recovery die of 12 means your character's health at level 1 is 12 plus your Constitution modifier, and each level you can either roll the d12 and add your CON modifier, or simply take 6 plus your CON modifier.
During a short or long rest, you can restore hit points or spell points equal to a number of d12 up to your total level per long rest. You add your CON modifier to this roll as well, however, you can only restore hit points or spell points with a single die roll not both. For example a level 3 character has 3 dice per long rest. In this scenario a d12 means they can roll up to 3d12. If they choose 2d12 spell points and 1d12 hit points they are out of recovery die until the character finishes a long rest. Again add your CON modifier to each roll, 2d12 would be 1d12 + CON and 1d12 + CON.
What If I Want to Build A Custom Class?
Familiar Arcana TTRPG is based on simplicity. Below it the table of what a custom class and subclass design should look like. This is how we design our classes, and you should follow this guideline. Martials do not have subclasses, instead they are designed to play as a class.
For class setup, you are typically doing 3 defining features. Do NOT add damage reduction, unarmored AC, or passive damage amplifiers. Active once per short or long rests like Rage from barbarian are good as they come with a defined window, level 6 is when your character get's either Power or Speed, or a caster feature designed to amplify damage or playstyle, so adding damage before this point is a bad idea.

Some things to keep in mind when adding your classes.
Does another class already fulfill the role I am adding?
If another class already fulfills the role you're adding, you should ensure your features are weaker to compensate the custom aspects of your class.
Does my caster class have the right Aspect of Magic?
Decide what Aspect of Magic, spell list, you're trying to add to your class. Use the rules section to figure out which Aspect of Magic works best. If you need multiple lists for your class that will be a class feature.
What is a Power Spike?
Power Spike as notated on the table are the levels that Cantrips, and Species features level up, you should NOT add a feature for these levels as they are already levels in which your character gains natural power.
Can I Multiclass A Custom Class?
Typically the point of a custom class is to manually add what you are trying to achieve and multiclassing would not be advised.
Can I Buy Items If I Choose Gold Instead of Starting Gear?
Yes, choosing the gold option is in addition to your base income from your profession. You can use both the gold from your starting gear, starting gold, or from your income to purchase additional items for your character. This allows you to customize your character, and have slightly more flexibility than the starting gear. With that said the starting gear option typically is worth more gold than starting gold, but cannot be sold or swapped for other equipment.
If you want specialized equipment take the gold, if you want slightly more gold value take the starting gear.
Can I Change My Spellcasting Attribute?
Ultimately this decision is up to your DM, if they decide that's okay, typically for roleplay and character development reasons it doesn't necessarily break the game. However, if a player wants their Wizard to switch to Wisdom because they want to power game, we'd advise a DM to deny this request. Certain classes are built to excel in certain aspects of the game, and are not designed to be a 1:1 balance.
Remember, if you allow them to use a different casting attribute, you'd likely need to make modifications. to their class features as well, as they are designed around that attribute. Never allow CON, STR, or DEX casting attributes, these are used for martials, and can lead to extreme min max scenarios.
Some subclasses may change the spellcasting modifier as noted in the Spellcasting section of the subclass. In this case the player can choose to use the subclass modifier or the casting modifier of the base class. This is a future design ruling and is not currently in the game.
